Classroom training as well as time in the range is a perfect first step for the beginner. I experienced a small class of supportive, nonjudgmental women and a knowledgeable and supportive instructor. I highly recommend Grover as an instructor. He truly wanted a great experience for all his students, no matter what age.

NSSF 1st shots was a great introductory course. Grover was an excellent instructor and provided a relaxed atmosphere and overview of the basics. It made for a less intimidating experience. Highly recommend for newbies!

Took the Delaware State Police Permit to Purchase class instructed by Grover on 10/18/25. Very good experience - course was informative and practical and the instructor was knowledgeable and friendly. As a first time shooter, the classroom portion of the course gave me confidence to head to the range, and the guided range session provided valuable experience.

I am compelled to share this OUTSTANDING review about Range Manager/Firearms Instructor Mr. Craig Doughty of Target Shooting Solutions (TSS), Avondale, PA. As a retired Delaware law enforcement supervisor, I understand the importance of weapons safety, and I would not give such praise if I felt otherwise.

I had not touched a semiautomatic handgun since my 2004 retirement. Now, as a senior citizen, I had an awesome experience with Mr. Doughty today at TSS. He made me feel comfortable, confident, and left me with a very positive outcome.
